About the Role

The Shire of Murray is seeking an experienced professional to positively lead our People and Culture team. As the Manager People and Culture you will provide support and advice to management and employees on legislation, industrial awards and Shire policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Strategy and Engagement, this leadership role will oversee the Shire’s human resources and work health and safety functions: recruitment, engaging onboarding, performance management, career progression, enterprise bargaining agreements, injury management, employee health and wellbeing and professional development.

About You:

You are an experienced people and culture leader who thrives in a complex and dynamic environment. You possess self-awareness and empathy,



are an effective communicator, are well organised and an inspiring and motivating leader who ensures the people and culture initiatives support the Shire’s objectives.

You will bring:

- Extensive experience in human resources and work health and safety management, ideally within local government.
- Proven leadership capability, with experience mentoring and developing staff within a multifaceted department.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Sound judgement and the confidence to provide advice at an executive level.
- Strong knowledge of relevant human resources and work health and safety legislation, awards and associated regulations.

The position on offer is a full-time contract, working 76 hours across a 9-day fortnight. A cash salary of $120,000 per annum will be offered.
