PJL Group is a specialised Underground Hard Rock Maintenance and Asset Supply Company supporting mining operations at Kanmantoo, South Australia.

Located approximately one hour southeast of Adelaide, Kanmantoo is a long-term underground mining operation where PJL is responsible for the maintenance and reliability of a up-to-date fleet of Sandvik, Caterpillar and Volvo underground mining equipment.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking multiple experienced Leading Hands to join our team. These are hands-on leadership positions where you will lead by example, providing technical guidance and support to a team of skilled tradespeople while ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Whether you're already working as a Leading Hand or you're an experienced Underground HD Fitter ready to take the next step into leadership, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing company.

About You

You are a motivated tradesperson with strong underground mining experience who enjoys leading from the front. You have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to safety, and take pride in producing quality work.

To be successful you will have:

- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant Mechanic or equivalent
- Previous underground mining maintenance experience
- Leading Hand or supervisory experience (preferred but not essential)
- Experience working on Sandvik, Caterpillar or Volvo underground equipment (highly regarded)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to lead, mentor and motivate a team




- Good computer literacy and maintenance reporting skills
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Current Australian Driver's Licence

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate a team of maintenance trades personnel
- Provide hands-on technical support and mentoring to workshop staff
- Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance when required
- Allocate daily work priorities and support maintenance planning
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping and compliance
- Liaise with Project Management, planners and operations to meet production requirements
- Complete maintenance documentation and reporting
- Promote continuous improvement across maintenance activities
- Lead by example and foster a positive team culture
