The Role
- Lead the department's taxation compliance, reporting and advisory functions, including GST, FBT, BAS and other taxation obligations.
- Provide expert financial, taxation and policy advice to stakeholders and support compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee taxation systems, reconciliations, reporting, audits and stakeholder liaison activities.
- Monitor changes to taxation, accounting and regulatory frameworks and advise on impacts to the department.
- Review and strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and compliance practices.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures and governance documents,
including financial delegations and PCI-DSS compliance requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls and reporting practices.
Qualifications & Licenses
- A Bachelor's Degree qualification in a relevant discipline and Membership or eligibility for membership of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia, Chartered Accountant or other professional accounting body
