The Role: Turning Research Into Better Policy

Working closely with the Director and Principal Policy Officer, you will support ICOVE's Policy & Advocacy function through research, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination to help inform national conversations and strengthen First Nations vocational education outcomes.

Here's What You'll Be Working On

- Undertake research and analyse information to support evidence-based policy development.

- Prepare policy papers, briefing notes, reports, and submissions.

- Monitor emerging policy developments and identify issues relevant to First Nations VET.

- Support stakeholder consultation and engagement activities across government, ACCOs, and the sector.

- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and maintain project documentation.

Your Profile: Curious, Analytical and Purpose-Driven

- Demonstrated experience in policy, research, analysis, or a related field.

- Strong written communication skills, including preparing reports, briefing papers, or submissions.

- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and relationship-building skills.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Public Policy, Social Sciences, Law, or equivalent experience.

- Experience working within government, ACCOs, education, research, or the VET sector is highly regarded.
