Head of Digital Marketing
About the role
Our client, a well-established, multi-disciplinary digital agency, is looking for a Head of Digital Marketing to lead the strategy, capability and commercial performance of their digital marketing division. The successful candidate will own client success, delivery quality and team performance, acting as senior strategic advisor to the agency's biggest accounts.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for building a systemised, scalable and AI-enabled operation that connects strategy and delivery, while developing and retaining a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the strategy, capability and buildout of the agency's digital marketing offeringLead the evolution of services, including CRM-led capability, journey marketing, GEO and modern cross-channel measurementDrive AI adoption across the offering, both as operational leverage and as a driver of new service linesEnsure a cohesive client experience across the wider agency's strategy, UX, development and performance capabilitiesStandardise, automate and simplify delivery across new and existing products and servicesOversee delivery resourcing, including client allocation and utilisation managementOwn the blended delivery model, including managing an offshore delivery partnership as internal capacity moves up the value chainAct as senior strategic advisor for large,



strategic accountsWork closely with delivery teams and Account Directors on aligned execution of client strategyAct as the senior escalation point for delivery issuesStrengthen client retention and satisfaction through consistent delivery and outcomesLead, manage and mentor the digital marketing teamSet clear performance expectations and accountability for delivery standardsIdentify capability gaps and build upskilling pathways, with a development plan for every team memberOwn team retention, engagement and wellbeingOwn commercial performance of the division: revenue, margin, utilisation and forecastingOwn client retention, renewals and rate reviews, driving organic growthShape and respond to tenders and proposals, providing delivery insight and estimatesEnsure recent services are commercially and operationally ready to sell and deliver
What our client is after
Someone who's led a digital marketing team at scale, is genuinely commercial (comfortable owning P&L;, not just delivery), and wants to build systems and capability rather than just manage day-to-day output. AI-forward thinking and comfort across multiple digital channels (not just one) will set candidates apart.
