Southern Cross Repairs' is seeking a skilled semi-trailer mechanic to join our team in Dry Creek, South Australia. This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing customers fleets of semi-trailers, ensuring they are in peak working condition.
What you'll be doing
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on semi-trailers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and structural issues
- Perform repairs and replacements of components such as brakes, suspensions, axles and lighting systems
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
- Assist with the implementation of preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations
What we're looking for
- Formal qualification in automotive mechanics or heavy vehicle maintenance
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a semi-trailer or heavy vehicle mechanic or a trade assistant
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with heavy vehicle maintenance software and diagnostic tools
