Western Suburbs Veterinary Clinic is a local, family-style vet clinic in Townsville. We are a small animal practice promoting the best care for your pets since 1982. Our qualified veterinarians, nurses and receptionists are passionate about animal health and helping owners sustain that special connection with their pets.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Receptionist to join our front of house team.
What You Will be Doing
- Be our friendly first point of contact for pet owners when they contact the clinic
- Create a welcoming, professional and calm workplace for our clients
- Communicating with and supporting the vet team help deliver high-quality care
- Answer incoming calls and emails to assist or redirect
- Handling customer enquiries and appointment scheduling
- Ensuring client facing areas are clean and professionally presented
- Processing payments, data entry and additional ad hoc duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
- An experienced Receptionist, either medical or clinical, with knowledge of the Veterinary Industry an advantage
- A desire to offer the best standards of care for patients while showing empathy and support for clients in all aspects of their pets’ care
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional time management and organisational ability
- Experience triaging urgent situations over the phone to determine the best course of action
- Comfort around animals is important to us
- Must maintain composure under pressure when dealing with distressed clients
- Committed work ethic with the ability to foster a friendly, calm and efficient environment within our workplace in every situation.
