About the role

As the Payroll Officer, you will support the Payroll Coordinators in preparing the payroll for Barwon Health in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all staff are remunerated in line with Barwon Health policies, procedures, legislative requirements, and award conditions. This includes processing employee pays through timesheets and the Time and Attendance system.

Key Responsibilities

- Process end-to-end payroll transactions (timesheets, allowances, leave, terminations and adjustments) in line with awards, legislation and organisational policies.
- Deliver high-quality payroll support by managing enquiries via ServiceNow and resolving or escalating issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure payroll accuracy by monitoring Time & Attendance/rostering processes, resolving exceptions, and investigating discrepancies across systems.
- Maintain compliant payroll records and drive continuous improvement through identifying process gaps, supporting system enhancements, and staying current with payroll legislation and requirements.

What we’re looking for

- Demonstrated experience in payroll or a similar administrative role, with solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with rostering systems (desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service focus and the ability to build effective relationships and respond professionally to enquiries
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and collaboratively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail,



with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes and maintaining confidentiality
