What You'll Be Doing
Working closely with the General Manager – Asset, you'll:
- Manage the procurement, commissioning, maintenance, rotation, and disposal of the Group's light vehicle fleet, including corporate 4x2, 4x4 diesel vehicles, and light trucks.
- Identify and recommend vehicles that best meet operational and site-specific requirements.
- Coordinate vehicle preparation to meet statutory regulations and Byrnecut Group specifications.
- Organise vehicle modifications, trade-ins, replacement programs, and aftermarket spare parts through approved suppliers.
- Coordinate vehicle transport, delivery, and collection through approved transport providers.
- Process capital expenditure requests and ensure fleet disposal processes comply with company procedures.
- Participate in quarterly reviews and ongoing operational performance meetings.
- Develop and trial equipment modifications and alternative components to improve durability, reliability, and lifecycle performance.
- Liaise with OEM and non-OEM suppliers to source specialised equipment and technical solutions.
- Provide technical support to site maintenance personnel regarding fleet maintenance, warranty management, labour sourcing, and product support.
- Monitor light vehicle fleet operating costs and identify opportunities to reduce lifecycle costs without compromising safety or performance.
- Ensure all new Light Vehicles and Light Trucks models complies with Byrnecut Group specifications before acceptance into service.
- Participate in risk assessments and Change of Management processes for fleet modifications and operational improvements.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender submissions relating to fleet procurement.
- Liaise with maintenance teams to support the development of fleet-related policies, procedures, and contractual arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with Byrnecut Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and company policies across all operations.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in enforcing company fleet policies and procedures across all operating sites.
- The ability to ensure all company light vehicles are maintained and operated in accordance with approved standards.
- An in-depth understanding of monitoring preventative maintenance schedules and compliance.
- The ability to analyse fleet maintenance costs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- A great deal of experience in coordinating warranty claims and supplier performance.
- The ability to maintain accurate fleet documentation, compliance records, and audit reports.
- An approach that is supportive to operational teams with technical advice and fleet management expertise.
