Salary: Level 3/4 $89,464 -$104,044 (pro-rata) per annum + 12% Superannuation

Part-time | 0.6 FTE (22.5 hours per week)

The Parliamentary Services Department (PSD) has an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Payroll Officer to join our collaborative Human Resources team on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to deliver end-to-end payroll services for Members and employees of the Parliament of Western Australia.

About the Role

Working within a small and supportive team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely end-to-end payroll services for approximately 350 staff and Members of Parliament using the Micropay payroll system. You will contribute to payroll compliance activities, Single Touch Payroll reporting, superannuation processing, reconciliations, leave auditing and end-of-financial-year payroll processes while providing a high level of customer service to employees and stakeholders.

About You

You are a highly organised payroll professional with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to customer service. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment, can manage competing priorities and are confident interpreting policies, procedures and industrial instruments while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to support and embrace PSD’s Values and meet the following selection criteria:

Essential:

1. Demonstrated experience in the accurate processing of payroll.

2. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar payroll position.

3. Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and employment conditions.

4.



Understanding of basic accounting principles, standards and practices including banking processes.

5. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

6. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus.

7. Excellent organisation and time management skills.

8. Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information and act with discretion.

9. Proven ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, legislation, policies and procedures.

Highly Desirable:

1. Experience with Micropay or a similar payroll system.

2. Experience using a records management system.

3. Experience with ConnX (HRIS).
