Environmental Scientist – Team Leader
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist – Team Leader to establish and grow our environmental services capability in Western Australia. Based in Perth, this senior leadership role combines technical delivery, team leadership, business development and commercial accountability to deliver environmental approvals and permitting services for leading mining clients. As the WA Environmental Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and growth of our environmental services offering.

Key Responsibilities

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of environmental scientists and consultants.

- Lead the delivery of mine permitting applications and environmental approvals across Western Australia's resources sector.

- Develop approvals strategies and manage project delivery to scope, budget, and schedule.

- Direct environmental impact assessments, baseline studies, and environmental management across the mining life cycle, including closure and rehabilitation.

- Manage engagement with government agencies, regulators, and key stakeholders throughout the approvals process.

- Provide senior technical oversight and quality assurance of environmental deliverables.

- Drive business development through client relationship management, proposal leadership, and identification of new opportunities.

- Collaborate with national teams to support business strategy and deliver integrated environmental solutions.

About You

You are an experienced environmental approvals professional with a strong reputation in the Western Australian mining sector. You combine deep technical expertise with proven leadership,



commercial capability and a passion for building successful teams and client relationships.

You will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline.

- A minimum of 20 years' experience delivering mine permitting applications and environmental approvals, ideally across both consulting and owner-side roles.

- Extensive knowledge of Western Australia's environmental and mining regulatory framework, including environmental approvals, Mining Act tenement conditions, mine closure plans, works approvals and associated regulatory processes.

- An established network across the WA mining industry, environmental consulting sector and relevant government regulators.

- Demonstrated success in building, leading and retaining high-performing technical teams.

- Strong commercial acumen, including experience in proposal preparation, project budgeting, client relationship management and business development.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.

- A willingness to travel to client sites throughout Western Australia as required.
