House Person

Quest on Franklin is seeking a reliable, detail driven full time House Person to join our housekeeping & operations team.

This is a hands-on operational role that directly impacts guest experience and the daily performance of the hotel. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, works with urgency, and maintains high standards without needing to be chased.

About the Role

You will be responsible for keeping the property running smoothly behind the scenes—ensuring public areas, back-of-house spaces, and housekeeping operations are always clean, stocked, and ready.

You will work closely with housekeeping and front office to support room readiness, guest requests, and operational flow.

Key Responsibilities

Property Presentation & Cleaning

- Clean and maintain all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, lifts, stairwells, and external walkways

- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all common areas to a consistently high standard

- Clean glass, surfaces, walls, and touchpoints regularly

- Maintain cleanliness of public restrooms and shared facilities

- Remove rubbish and recycling across the property

- Ensure all guest-facing areas are clean, safe, and well-presented at all times

Housekeeping Operations Support

- Move linen, amenities, and supplies efficiently across floors

- Keep linen rooms, service areas, and storage areas organised and fully stocked

- Support room attendants to ensure rooms are ready on time

Guest Support

- Deliver guest requests quickly and professionally

- Interact with guests in a polite and helpful manner

Operational Support





- Assist with meeting room and function setups

- Carry out cyclical preventative maintenance tasks

- Manage waste removal and back-of-house cleanliness

- Identify and report maintenance or safety issues immediately

Role Requirements

- Ability to perform manual handling tasks (lifting, bending, pushing trolleys, and being on your feet for extended periods)

- Strong pace and time awareness — this is a deadline-driven environment

- High attention to detail — small misses are noticed by guests

- Reliability — your team depends on you showing up and doing your role properly

- Problem solving ability and able to work without constant supervision

Hours & Employment

- Full time position

- Typical shifts 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday-Friday

- Occasional weekend work

- Employment in line with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 (HIGA)
