Leading Hand Horticulturist / Landscape Maintenance Gardener

Golden Triangle Landscaping is seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Horticulturist or Landscape Maintenance Gardener to join our growing Gold Coast team.

The primary focus of this role is maintaining high-end residential homes and commercial properties to an exceptional standard. You will also be responsible for leading other employees on site, coordinating daily tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely and to the company’s presentation standards.

Alongside regular landscape maintenance, your role will complement our landscape renovation, softscape and structural landscaping projects. This provides the opportunity to assist with current garden installations, plant selection, garden layouts and complete outdoor transformations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage landscape maintenance employees on site

- Allocate daily tasks and coordinate workflow across the crew

- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard

- Train and support junior or less-experienced team members

- Maintain premium residential and commercial landscapes

- Complete pruning, hedging, shaping and general plant care

- Perform lawn mowing, edging and turf maintenance

- Maintain garden beds through weeding, soil improvement and mulching

- Apply fertilisers and appropriate garden treatments

- Identify plant species, pests, diseases and nutritional deficiencies

- Operate and maintain standard landscape maintenance equipment

- Complete green waste removal and detailed site clean-ups

- Assist with landscape renovations and softscape installations

- Install plants, soil, mulch, turf, edging and decorative garden finishes

- Contribute practical ideas around plant selection, garden layout and design

- Assist the construction team with structural landscaping works when required





- Communicate professionally with clients, management and team members

- Complete job records, site notes and daily reporting

- Promote safe work practices and maintain organised worksites

About You

The ideal applicant will have:

- Previous experience in horticulture, gardening or landscape maintenance

- Previous experience leading or supervising other employees

- Strong knowledge of plants, pruning, fertilisation and garden health

- Confidence operating mowers, hedge trimmers, brush cutters and blowers

- Strong organisation, communication and time-management skills

- The ability to provide clear direction and maintain team productivity

- An eye for presentation and strong attention to detail

- An interest in garden design, landscape renovation and plant selection

- The ability to work independently and take ownership of daily outcomes

- A reliable, professional and respectful attitude

- Current Australian driver’s licence

- White Card, or willingness to obtain one

- Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or Landscape Construction is highly regarded
