Shockwave Marine is looking for a reliable and experienced Multiskilled Fibreglass Boat Builder to join our established team.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, can contribute across different stages of boat construction, and works well as part of a close-knit team. Experience in fibreglass boat building is preferred, although applicants with strong composite, marine, automotive, caravan or similar trade experience are also encouraged to apply.
About the role
Your duties may include:
- Fibreglass laminating, moulding and general composite work
- Utilise processes
- Preparing, assembling and fitting boat components
- Grinding, trimming, sanding, polishing and finishing
- Gelcoat repairs and general fibreglass repairs
- Reading measurements, plans and job instructions
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
- Assisting with fit-out and other areas of production as required
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
- Working with the team to meet production schedules and quality standards
About you
The successful applicant will be:
- Experienced in fibreglass, composites or boat building
- Experienced in hand laid, gun laid or dry stack processes
- Multiskilled and willing to assist across different areas of production
- Reliable, punctual and able to work consistently
- Safety-conscious and committed to quality workmanship
- Physically capable of performing hands-on workshop duties
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing to follow workplace procedures and take direction
- Committed to maintaining a drug- and alcohol-free workplace
- Fit for work and prepared to complete drug and alcohol screening, where required
Marine industry experience is highly regarded, but a strong practical background and the right attitude are equally important.
