Experienced Medical Receptionist – GP Clinic
Casual Opportunity with Pathway to Permanent Part-Time or Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and patient-focused General Practice team. Due to unforseen events, our HR department could not process all applicants from our last ad so we encourage candidated to apply again.

Please Note: Only candidates who have more than ONE YEAR experience as a medical receptionist in a GP Clinic and can use 'Best Practice' will be considered for this role due to specific requirements in this instance.

This role is ideal for a receptionist with extensive experience in a busy GP clinic environment who takes pride in delivering exceptional patient service, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

About the Role

The successful candidate will initially commence in a casual capacity, with regular shifts available. For the right person, this role offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent part-time or full-time position if desired in the future.

Key Responsibilities

- Providing outstanding customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals

- Managing patient appointments and clinic schedules

- Greeting patients and handling enquiries both in person and over the phone

- Processing patient registrations and maintaining accurate medical records

- Managing billing, Medicare claims, EFTPOS transactions, and account enquiries

- Supporting GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals with administrative tasks

- Maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations

- Contributing to a welcoming, efficient, and professional clinic environment





Essential Requirements

- Significant experience as a Medical Receptionist within a GP clinic

- Strong knowledge of medical practice operations and patient administration processes

- Confident proficiency with 'Best Practice' software is required

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- High level of attention to detail and organisational ability

- Professional presentation and a positive, team-oriented attitude

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional patient care

- Right to work in Australia and ability to be a long term member is required

Desirable

- Experience with Medicare billing and claiming procedures

- WorkCover and Third Party matters processing and administration

- Knowledge of chronic disease management and care plan administration

- Previous experience supporting multiple practitioners
