About the role

We are seeking an experienced Apprentice to join our team at New Day Construction in Burleigh Heads, Queensland. This full-time role will involve providing high-quality carpentry services for a diverse range of residential and commercial construction projects. Must have Experience with steel frames.

What you'll be doing

1. Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans and specifications to determine project requirements

2. Measuring, cutting, and assembling wooden structures and components such as framing, flooring, stairs, and cabinets

3. Installing finishing touches like trim, moulding, and hardware

4. Troubleshooting and resolving any construction issues that arise

5. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

6. Collaborating with other tradespeople, site managers, and clients to ensure project success

What we're looking for

1. Formal carpentry or construction qualifications (e.g. Certificate III in Carpentry)

2. Current White Card (Construction Induction Training) and relevant safety certifications

3. Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Carpenter, preferably in both residential and commercial settings

4. Currently enrolled in or completed first year of carpentry apprenticeship, or equivalent trade experience

5. Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and safety regulations

6. Excellent problem-solving,



critical thinking, and communication skills

7. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

8. Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service

9. Own basic hand tools (hammer, chisels, measuring tools, etc.) and reliable transport

10. Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa with construction work rights

11. Physical fitness to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and stand for extended periods
