Job Description

Grounded Construction Group is currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Road Roller Operator to join their team in Muchea WA. The Road Roller Operator is responsible for the secure and efficient operation of road rollers to compact soil, gravel, asphalt and other construction materials for roads, hardstands, building platforms and civil infrastructure works. The role is responsible for achieving specified compaction standards while maintaining compliance with company, client and legislative requirements.

The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

- Operate road rollers safely and efficiently to compact soil, gravel, crushed rock, asphalt and other construction materials.
- Achieve specified compaction standards for roads, hardstands, building pads, foundations and civil infrastructure.
- Compact fill layers in accordance with project specifications and engineering requirements.
- Perform rolling operations for pavement construction, roadworks, drainage and site preparation activities.
- Read and work from construction drawings, survey pegs, compaction specifications and supervisor instructions.
- Monitor rolling patterns and identify areas requiring additional compaction.
- Coordinate safely with graders, excavators, loaders and other mobile plant during earthworks operations.




- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and complete required plant inspection documentation.
- Monitor equipment performance and report faults or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Carry out routine servicing, lubrication and minor maintenance within competency limits.
- Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox meetings and safety interactions.
- Operate safely around personnel, mobile plant, underground services and fixed infrastructure.
- Maintain compliance with Grounded, client and statutory safety requirements.
- Complete required plant logs, inspection records and production documentation accurately.
- Assist with site establishment and other construction activities where required.
- Maintain housekeeping standards around work areas and equipment.
- Contribute to achieving project production, quality and safety objectives.

Skills and Abilities:

- Relevant qualification equivalent to AQF Certificate II or Certificate III, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum one (1) year relevant experience operating road rollers.
- Current Driver’s Licence (HR – MC Role Dependant)
- Operating SOA
- Operating VOC (2 years validity)
