Various sections in the Strategy and Analysis Branch are seeking data analysts to support evidence-based decision making.

These sections:

- develop and apply analytical and modelling approaches to support evidence-based policy advice across social security and family assistance payments
- use integrated administrative, survey, and linked data assets to analyse complex social and economic issues
- support the design, costing, and evaluation of policies impacting individuals, families, and vulnerable populations
- build data capability across DSS by developing tools, guidance, and accessible analytical products
- deliver high-quality reporting, distributional analysis, and ad-hoc insights to inform Government priorities.

The key duties of the position include:

- undertake data analysis to support policy development, program delivery, and evaluation activities
- assist in analysing data to identify trends, patterns,



and insights related to social policy and program outcomes
- contribute to the preparation of reports, dashboards, and briefing material for internal stakeholders
- support the maintenance and improvement of datasets, analytical models, and reporting tools
- respond to routine and ad-hoc data requests under guidance
- work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to understand business needs and support analytical solutions
- communicate analytical findings clearly in written and verbal formats for both technical and non-technical audiences.
