The Job Role We are looking for experienced Metal Machinists and Metal Polishers to join us at Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering and be part of supporting the sugarcane & engineering Industry. Metal Machinists
- All-rounder Metal Machinist
- Operate, set & program our CNC Milling Machine & CNC Lathes
- You will be provided with engineering drawings &, either through altering existing programs, or, by writing new programs
- You will be expected to complete the manufacture of parts to comply with exacting customer requirements
Metal Polishers
- Polishing of stainless-steel metal components to clean finishes;
- Operate within safety guidelines and any operating procedures;
- Liaise with Production Manager to ensure jobs are completed on time;
- Clean and maintain work area and equipment;
- Grinding, Deburring;
- Polishing out weld seams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- CNC Machinist Trade background but experienced welders encouraged to apply
- We require someone who is versatile,
reliable & motivated
- A keen eye for detail, a can-do attitude
- Willingness to gain knowledge & skills as well as an understanding of production is highly desirable
- Relevant trade qualifications
- At least 3 years experience
- Strong CAM skills
- Strong Machining skills
- Strong understanding of tooling applications
- An ability to work both autonomously as well as in a team workplace
- High standard of safety awareness & culture
Salary: $60,000 - $77,000 annually About The Company Carta & Co Pty Ltd is the largest Australian manufacturer of Cane Transporters for the Australian Sugar Cane Industry. Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering is a small, locally owned company based in Ingham, with workshops in Townsville & Ingham that provides engineering, drafting, fabrication, fitting, machining, blasting & painting services. We also repair damaged transporters and fabricate spare parts and other agricultural equipment.
