AIM Mining Corporation is an emerging gold development company with major growth plans underway. We currently operate the Warrawoona Gold Project in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia and are now ramping up underground operations at Nullagine.
As we move toward bringing two underground production mines online, we are seeking a number of experienced and motivated underground operators to join us on this exciting journey.
Jumbo Operator
FIFO from Perth | 15/13 Roster | Competitive Remuneration
This role is responsible for the safe and productive operation of underground development drills to deliver planned mine development, ground support installation and service installation activities. Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor, you will play a critical role in achieving development targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and equipment care.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Sandvik DD420 Jumbo development drills to complete underground development headings
- Drill accurately to survey line and grade in accordance with mine plans and design specifications
- Install ground support in line with geotechnical requirements and mine standards
- Complete service installation activities as part of the development cycle
- Conduct pre-start inspections and perform basic operator maintenance and troubleshooting
- Identify and report equipment defects and maintenance requirements
- Maintain accurate drilling logs, shift reports and operational documentation
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and underground crews to coordinate daily activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise productivity and equipment utilisation
- Ensure development quality by actively managing drill consumables, drilling accuracy and ground support installation to optimise cost per metre
- Contribute to a positive safety culture through hazard identification, risk management and compliance with company procedures and statutory requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous underground hard rock mining experience operating development jumbos
- Proven experience operating Sandvik DD420 Jumbo drills (or similar Sandvik development drills)
- Demonstrated competency in development drilling, ground support installation and underground service installation
- Current Manual Driver's Licence (HR Licence highly regarded)
- Strong commitment to safety and zero-harm outcomes
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and report equipment issues
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- First Aid, Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications (desirable)
