About the role
Basketball WA is seeking a proactive and customer focused Stadium Duty Officer to join our team at Bendat Basketball Stadium. Reporting to the Stadium Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of one of Western Australia's premier sporting venues, ensuring the stadium operates efficiently while delivering outstanding service to our members, patrons, and stakeholders.
This hands-on role combines operational, customer service, administrative, and event coordination responsibilities. You will oversee court and function room bookings, support the delivery of games and events, supervise front-line operations, and ensure the stadium is maintained to the highest standards of presentation, safety, and functionality.
Working closely with internal teams, sporting organisations, hirers, and visitors,
you will contribute to creating a welcoming and professional environment while supporting the continued growth and success of Basketball WA and Bendat Basketball Stadium.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage court and function room bookings, ensuring enquiries are responded to promptly, bookings are accurately scheduled, and facility usage is maximised.
- Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming visitors, responding to enquiries, managing reception activities, and fostering a positive experience for all stadium users.
- Open and close the stadium in accordance with operational procedures, ensuring all security, safety, and facility protocols are followed.
- Coordinate and supervise games, tournaments, functions, and community events, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and functionality of courts, function spaces, equipment, and all stadium facilities, coordinating maintenance where required.
- Support the setup and pack down of basketball events, including Perth Lynx fixtures and other major stadium activities.
- Assist with staff scheduling, timekeeping, supervision, and on-the-job training to support the effective delivery of daily operations.
- Provide administrative support including managing bookings, preparing reports,
processing enquiries, handling correspondence, and assisting with invoicing and general office administration.
- Support event planning and logistics, including room setup, presentation equipment, and function preparation to ensure successful events and meetings.Maintain accurate operational records, undertake safety inspections, report incidents, and ensure compliance with emergency procedures and workplace safety requirements.
Our ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, customer focused, and thrive in a quick-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of service.
You will have experience working in a stadium, venue, hospitality, recreation, or customer service environment and enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, you will take pride in maintaining exceptional facility standards while ensuring visitors have a positive experience.
Experience coordinating events, managing bookings, supervising staff, or working within sporting facilities will be highly regarded. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required to support stadium operations and events is essential.
