About the opportunity

To support our continued growth, we have an opportunity for an experienced Blast & Paint Leading Hand to join our team in Cataby, WA on a long-term, ongoing project basis. Be part of a long-standing mining and resources operation in Cataby, delivering essential maintenance and shutdown services to a world-class industrial site.

This position offers 57 hours per week, camp accommodation, and a company vehicle for travel between accommodation and site. The role involves corrosion remediation works, including the blasting and painting of structural steel, and is ideal for candidates with strong leadership skills and previous experience in a Blast & Paint Leading Hand position.

To be successful in this role, you will have prior Blast & Paint Leading Hand experience and hold a current driver's licence. A NACE CIP qualification is desirable but not essential.

About you

You're a safety-minded, team-focused tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and contributing to a strong site culture.

You'll bring:

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role

- Full Australian work rights – passport, birth certificate, citizenship certificate, or valid work visa

- Hold the following Nationally Accredited Qualifications:

- Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application (desirable)

- High Risk Work License Scaffold Advanced (desirable)

- White Card

- Drivers License

- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening

- Genuine commitment to safety – you follow procedures, wear your PPE properly, and speak up when something doesn't look right

- Team player who backs up your crew, communicates well, and helps maintain a positive site culture
