Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a solid future. Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, approximately 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola, we produce and process zinc, lead, and silver from our open-cut operation. Our products are transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped globally, playing a crucial role in essential commodities used for mobility, infrastructure, and communications.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate blast hole drill rigs in a safe and efficient mannerExecute drilling activities in line with drill plans and production schedulesMonitor ground conditions and adjust drilling parameters as requiredConduct pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checksMaintain accurate drilling logs and report any issues or hazardsEnsure compliance with site safety standards, procedures, and environmental requirementsWork collaboratively with blast crew, mining production, supervisors, and other site personnel
Required Experience & Skills
Proven experience operating one or more of the following drill rigs: Epiroc D65, DML, Pit Viper,
orVermeer HDD drill (highly regarded)Experience on other drill rigs or heavy mining equipment considered highly transferableCurrent Open Driver’s Licence (HR desirable)Demonstrated experience in hard rock environments (highly regarded)Strong understanding of drilling safety, hazard identification, and site proceduresRelevant RII competencies and/or training transcripts must be providedCurrent RII for (highly regarded)ForkliftNon Slew CraneRiggers/Doggers ticketTelehandlerAbility to work effectively within a team and follow operational plans
