Landcare Weed Control is land management business with solid long-term relationships with State and Local Government, and Community Groups with a proven track record in restoration and management of natural bushland reserves. Driven by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who through their passion for the environment and care and attention to the details have restored and preserved numerous sites across Perth.

Landcare Weed Control is committed to environmental sustainability and wherever possible we use rechargeable electric machinery and tools, hybrid vehicles, use reuseable natural fibre bags and flagging tape, separate green-waste, recyclables and rubbish, and used herbicide containers are taken to drum muster plus other considerations.

Many of Landcare Weed Control’s Environmental Team are also active members of Community and Friends Groups contributing to planting days, rubbish removal, monitoring and event coordination.

About the position:

Landcare Weed Control is looking to engage Casual Field Officers to work alongside our experienced Environmental team in delivering effective weed management and revegetation services to our clients. Your role will include;

- Application of herbicides via handheld vehicle mounted spray units
- Herbicide treatments using manual techniques
- Revegetation site preparation and plant installation
- Identifying native plants and weeds
- Manual and mechanical weed control including brush cutting
- Ensuring public safety while undertaking environmental activities
- Participating in training and development as required
- Comply with Health and Safety, legislative and regulatory requirements
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing

You will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and show initiative where required, follow instructions and have a willingness and desire to improve your skills and knowledge in bushland restoration and plant identification.

This position is suitable for those seeking entry into the environmental sector however experience is preferred and a Pest Management Technician Licence is essential. You may also be considered for permanent part time and full-time positions.

Essential requirements

- Current Pest Management Technician Licence
- Personal transport and a valid driver's license. Due to locations not being on public transport routes we will be unable to consider applicants that do not have their own means of transportation, however we car pool where possible.
- Australian or New Zealand resident or Visa holder allowing work in Australia.
- Ability to perform outdoor work.
- Ability to work independently and under supervision.
- Availability of 4 to 5 days per week
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Certificate III or above in Conservation and Ecology Management or Horticulture preferred but not essential
- Current First Aid (and CPR) Certificate preferred but not essential
- Nation Police Clearance preferred
- Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
