Gilgandra Local Aboriginal Medical Service (GLAMS) is seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to fill the position of casual receptionist. The purpose of this position is to provide front-desk and administrative support, answer phones, manage medical appointments, greet patients and assist the clinical staff at GLAMS while ensuring all day-to-day reception duties are completed.
You are the people at the front line that help our mob take responsibility for their own health, the health of their families and the health of the broader Aboriginal community.
Essential:
- Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander with ability to provide proof of Aboriginality (mandatory),
- AQTF qualification in any field or completion of secondary education to Year 10 (minimum) or equivalent life and professional experience,
- Demonstrated ability to work in a customer service workplace,
- Proficient computers skills (Microsoft word, excel and outlook etc),
- Demonstrated sound verbal and written communication skills,
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually,
in a supervised and unsupervised environment,
- Current nationally coordinated criminal history check, NSW working with children’s check and unrestricted class C or P2 driver’s license (mandatory).
Desirable:
- Experience working as a receptionist or administration role.
- Experience working in an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation or healthcare setting.
Candidates must be work‑ready, with all the required pre‑employment checks (police checks, WWCC, etc.) available to be submitted directly after the interview.
