Interstate / remote based working arrangements will not be considered.Maximum hours40 hours per weekSecurity clearanceMust be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1Job detailsThe Business Engagement and Design Section within the Digital and Service Delivery Branch of DFAT’s Information Management and Technology Division, has a requirement for multiple ICT labour-hire resources to fill the role of Senior Solution and Domain Architect responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of end-to-end technology solutions to meet business outcomes. They will ensure the solution has technological compatibility, efficiency, and scalability.Key duties and responsibilitiesKey role requirements include:Designs and develops scalable, productive, secure, and cost-effective technical solutions to meet business infrastructure or functional needs.Researches and selects appropriate technologies, platforms and tools that best meet the project's requirements.Defines the interfaces and data flows between different systems and third-party services so that each component works together.Creates technical documentation, architectural diagrams and specifications to guide development teams and communicate the solution architecture.Creating reference architectures including current and target states for each domain, such as landscape views, capability models and roadmaps.Coordinates teams during the implementation of the chosen solution, addresses technical challenges,
and oversees that the designs are effectively realised.Produces design documentation within DFAT’s defined templates, principles, and design guidance. i.e. High-Level Design, Detailed Designs, Solution Overviews, Conceptual Architecture Documents, Product Assessments/Comparisons, undertake technical review of procurements and produce assessments and reports against defined criteria.Provides constructive feedback on the departments architectural reference material and guidance, including non-functional requirements used for technology procurement and extensible patterns.Proactively engages in established forums such as the Design Authority (DA), and the Architecture Review Board (ARB), and promotes the engagement in these forums with colleagues.Ensures designs are peer reviewed with relevant stakeholders and broadly consulted prior to requesting approval.The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) has been used to inform the requirements. This covers a range of tasks from conceptual architectures that support business cases, along with patterns, standards, roadmaps, reference architectures and high level designs. These services ensure our ICT projects meet our business goals and technology strategy with high quality designs. The team is also dedicated to providing Architectural Assurance services to our department. These efforts ensure that our architectural framework is robust, efficient, and aligned with the department’s strategic goal.CriteriaThe buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.Essential criteria1.• Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years working within the ICT industry.2.• Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years producing solution architecture/system design documentation.3.• Experience working on secure government systems.4.• Experience working in complex ICT environments.5.• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.6.• Minimum NV1 security clearance.Desirable criteria1.• Experience working in complex global ICT environments.2.• Experience applying Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential 8 controls through pragmatic design options.3.• Experience with cloud computing and complex connectivity and integration patterns.4.• Experience with a diverse range of technologies and mix of on site, private cloud, and SaaS technology, and the secure integration of these.
