About VPG

VPG is a non-profit organisation that has been improving child and youth transitions across Far North Queensland for more than 25 years.

VPG is expanding our youth services. We are currently seeking passionate and capable people to join our team across a number of youth and wellbeing roles.

VPGs Youth Support Services provide direct case management and early intervention support to young people, helping them to build resilience and capabilities, strengthen connections for community and navigate pathways. Working alongside young people, families, schools and community organisations, we focus on creating opportunities, building capabilities and supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes in their lives.

Young people come from all walks of life and so do we. Our values and Advantaged Thinking approach underpin everything we do. While qualifications and experience are important, alignment with our approach and values is just as important.

Current Opportunities

We are expanding our team and are currently recruiting for:

Youth Support Officer (SCHADS Level 4 - Full-Time - University Qualified - Est $92,000)

Provide case management,



advocacy, referrals, support planning and practical assistance to young people experiencing a range of challenges.

Student Wellbeing Officer (Part-Time - School Based Role - Minimum Cert 4/Current Student/Graduate)

Work within our partnered Primary Schools to support children to thrive through wellbeing initiatives, family engagement, social and emotional support, and early intervention activities.

About the Work

Depending on your experience and the role, you may:

- Provide case management and early intervention support to a caseload of young people

- Conduct assessments, develop support plans and coordinate referrals

- Build positive relationships with young people and their families

- Support young people to strengthen connections with family, education, employment and community

- Assist young people to access protected and stable housing and other support services

- Deliver outreach, mentoring, group activities and practical support

- Facilitate wellbeing, social skills and engagement activities with children/youth

- Advocate for young people and coordinate support across multiple services

- Work collaboratively with families, schools, employers, housing providers and community organisations





- Support young people to identify goals, overcome barriers and build the skills, confidence and capabilities needed to move forward

These are not typical office-based role.

These are roles built on relationships, practical support and genuine connection. Every day is different. Sometimes progress comes through a support plan, a referral or a coordinated response. Sometimes it comes through a conversation at the right time with the right person.
