About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, resilient manager to oversee a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Coffs Harbour on a part‑time basis. You will lead a team of 12 Support Workers delivering high‑quality support to two NDIS participants with high‑intensity, complex needs.
This role reports directly to the Managing Director and includes operational coverage during periods of MD leave. Ideal for someone seeking a predictable three‑day roster and strong work–life balance.
Your Core Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
Provide structured leadership to a team of 12 Support Workers, including mentoring, training, performance reviews, and maintaining a professional, compliant team culture.
Clinical Management
Manage complex clinical needs including PEG site care, oral/PEG medication administration, PEG fluid administration, Mealtime Management Plans, and bowel management, with clinical guidance from Allied Health clinicians. Ensure best‑practice implementation and secure escalation pathways.
Behaviour Support
Lead the consistent implementation of Behaviour Support Plans, ensuring staff follow all strategies, data‑collection requirements, and Restrictive Practice (RP) protocols in line with NDIS Commission standards.
Incident Management
Oversee the full incident lifecycle—initial response, documentation, investigation, follow‑up actions, and timely submission of reportable incidents to the NDIS Commission.
Compliance & Reporting
Complete monthly RP reporting and ensure PRN administration follows strict protocols.
Crisis Management
Provide on‑call escalation support one weekend per fortnight for incidents, behaviours, and urgent rostering changes.
Emergency Participant Support (Infrequent)
Provide short‑term 1:1 support only when the casual pool is exhausted, typically during MD leave.
Operational Administration
Oversee timesheets, payroll approvals, rostering, and documentation compliance.
Executive Support & Leave Coverage
Assist the Managing Director with operational tasks and provide leadership coverage during MD leave.
What You Bring
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with high‑intensity participants and complex behaviours
• “Firm but fair” leadership style with strong performance management capability
• Cert IV or Diploma in Disability/Community Services (Nursing highly desirable)
• Strong clinical skills, including PEG site care, PEG fluid and medication administration, and bowel care, with the ability to follow Allied Health guidance and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
