Aboriginal Restoring Families Coordinator (New Position)
Part-time, 30.4 hours a week – Fixed Term to 30 June ****
This is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act ****.

About the Role
The Aboriginal Restoring Families Coordinator works across Rumbalara programs to help Aboriginal families access timely; culturally safe and family-led Restoring Families supports.
The role identifies families requiring additional assistance, supports triage and allocation, and strengthens coordination across programs and partner services.
The Coordinator also helps staff promote the program, obtain informed consent and engage families respectfully.
By monitoring demand, capacity and emerging issues, and coordinating shared assessment and planning across community, health, education, justice and family violence services, the role supports joined-up responses that respect Aboriginal self-determination and improve outcomes for children and families.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
A Diploma in Community Services or a similar qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
Lived experience, community knowledge and cultural authority, which are valued alongside formal qualifications.
An understanding of Aboriginal community-controlled services, Restoring Families and the systems supporting Aboriginal children and families.
Experience identifying families requiring additional support and connecting them with appropriate services.




The ability to coordinate services and support staff with service options, informed consent and culturally safe family engagement.
The ability to monitor service demand, identify risks and develop practical solutions.
Strong written communication and reporting skills.
Experience coordinating targeted Aboriginal supports and shared planning across community, health, education, justice and family violence services.
