Senior Planning and Policy Officer | NSW Government
Our client is a highly regarded NSW Government organisation seeking an experienced planning skilled to join their dynamic team.
The role will support the planning and delivery of major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across NSW, working closely with government agencies, industry, communities and key stakeholders to achieve effective planning and project outcomes.
This is a contract chance commencing ASAP until 29 January ****, offering the prospect to contribute to significant infrastructure and renewable energy initiatives.
The Job
During this exciting Senior Planning and Policy Officer contract, you will be responsible for:
Provide strategic planning advice for renewable energy, transmission, generation and storage projects.
Build strong relationships with government agencies, industry, communities and key stakeholders.
Engage with stakeholders to understand needs, resolve land use issues and support positive outcomes.
Develop planning initiatives that minimise environmental impacts, reduce costs and maximise community benefits.
Provide specialist advice to support the timely delivery of State Significant Infrastructure projects.
Undertake environmental planning assessments and review environmental and post-approval documentation.
Develop effective stakeholder engagement strategies across regional communities, industry and government.
Monitor project delivery, risks, impacts and outcomes to support successful project implementation
You
To be successful in this Senior Planning and Policy Officer role, you must have experience in the following:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in planning, environmental studies, law, infrastructure, renewable energy or a related discipline.
Experience securing planning approvals for high-value infrastructure projects, with knowledge of NSW planning and environmental legislation, particularly the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act ****.
Experience in linear infrastructure, renewable energy or major project planning and delivery.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience building relationships with government agencies, consent authorities and referral bodies.
Experience in project and/or policy management within a government or regulatory environment.
Strong understanding of contemporary government policy and community expectations.
Current Australian Class C driver's licence.
