We have an opportunity at our Townsville branch for a Field Service Diesel Mechanic (known internally as a Service Technician - Field).
A varied role that will see you working on a range of equipment across John Deere Construction, Forestry machinery and Vermeer Equipment.
This field-based role will entail from general service and repairs to major overhauls and new machine assembly.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Field Service Technician, you will:
Travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair, service and maintain a range of heavy equipment
Deliver quality workmanship in the field while minimising customer downtime
Build strong relationships with customers and provide solutions-focused technical support
Accurately complete service reports, record parts used and capture time worked
Manage your service vehicle, tools and equipment to ensure they remain safe, organised and well maintained
Work independently while collaborating closely with the wider service team to deliver outstanding customer outcomes
Follow all safety requirements and represent RDO Equipment professionally on customer sites
Contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement

What We're Look For someone who:
Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Mobile Plant Mechanic or equivalent
Proven experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment in a field service or workshop environment
Strong diagnostic, electrical, hydraulic and fault-finding skills
Experience completing major repairs, rebuilds and engine overhauls
A current and valid driver's licence
Excellent communication skills with a strong commitment to customer service
The ability to work independently, solve problems and manage your time effectively in the field
A safety-first mindset and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
A positive team-oriented attitude with a focus on delivering quality outcomes for customers
High-risk work licences and tickets will be highly regarded
This role requires specific certifications or licenses; we'll request them later in the recruitment process.
