Mechanical Fitter:
Monday - Friday | Day Shift | 7:00am - 3:30pm
Earn up to $*****/hr Casual or $*****/hr Permanent + Overtime + RDO Accrual

The Role:
Working from a dedicated workshop bench, you'll service, overhaul and refurbish critical rail components through the complete repair process, including:
Disassembly, inspection, fault diagnosis and reassembly of mechanical rail components.
Overhaul, repair and testing of air compressors, brake calipers, pantographs, valves and associated equipment.
Complete quality inspections, testing and documentation.
Use precision measuring equipment together with hand, pneumatic and power tools.
Identify component defects and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
Maintain high housekeeping, safety and quality standards.
Support workshop production schedules and customer delivery requirements.

What You Need:
Practical mechanical experience within manufacturing, engineering, mining, heavy industry or automotive sectors.
Experience dismantling, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding mechanical equipment.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and complete quality documentation.
Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
C10 - Australian Mechanical Trade Certification Level 3 or equivalent.
C11 - Overseas Mechanical Trade Qualification or unlicensed Australian mechanical tradesperson.
C12 - Partial completion of an Australian Mechanical Trade.
Highly regarded:
Rollingstock maintenance experience.
Pneumatic, hydraulic or air compressor overhaul experience.
LF Forklift Licence.
RIW Card.
Previous Leading Hand or Supervisory experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Successful applicants will be required to complete:
Rail Category 3 Medical including Drug & Alcohol Screening.
National Police Check.
Full Australian working rights.
