About the role
Southern Ports is recruiting a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join their team inBunbury, with occasional travel to the other ports.
Reporting to the Safety & Security Manager the WHS Advisor will be responsible for supporting teams to implement and monitor secure work practices and systems.
Working with minimal supervision, you'll help drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance across maintenance and project activities.
This role also acts as a key link between departments and contractors to ensure WHS documentation, procedures, and legislative requirements are met.
Key responsibilities
Provide hands-on WHS leadership to foster a strong safety culture across employees and contractors
Support Southern Ports work teams,
and contractors through all stages of the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with WHS systems and requirements
Conduct and review risk assessments, investigations, and audits to drive continuous safety improvement
Monitor contractor onboarding and site compliance to ensure alignment with safety, access control, and environmental standards
Required
Minimum Certificate IV in WHS
Certificate, Diploma or higher in a field of Environmental or Sustainability study
Certified ICAM investigator
Chemalert Comprehensive User
Current Senior First Aid Certificate
Demonstrated recent experience (min 3 years) as a WHSE Advisor within civil engineering, construction, or heavy industrial environments and site-based application and experience
Proven record of implementing WHSE policies, conducting team based and on the job risk assessments, and managing compliance on complex and simultaneous operation activities and projects

· Have a current Western Australian driver's licence
· Be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card
· Pass a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing
· Provide a National Police Certificate that is within a 6-month period.
