Cullen & Co is a small, growing occupational therapy practice based in Newcastle.
We work predominantly with people with disabilities and psychosocial disabilities through the NDIS, with a strong focus onmental health, functional capacity, independence and meaningful participation.
We're looking for afull-time Occupational Therapistto join our team.
And honestly, we're more interested inwho you are and how you thinkthan whether you have every skill already.
What we're looking for
You might be an experienced OT looking for a team where you can actually enjoy coming to work.
Or you might be anew graduatewho is keen to learn, ask questions and throw yourself into the world of OT.
Either way, we're looking for someone who:
genuinely cares about their clients and wants to make a difference
has an interest inmental health and/or disability
is curious and willing to learn
takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do
is comfortable asking questions when they don't know something
can think outside the box and problem solve
wants to develop their clinical skills and confidence
is happy to have a laugh and contribute to a team
can have a bit of banter, while still knowing when the work gets serious
values good clinical practice and doing things properly
wants to work somewhere they can actually have a voice
What you'll be doing
Your days won't all look the same.
You might be completing a Functional Capacity Assessment one day, working alongside a client to build their independence the next, problem-solving an environmental barrier, prescribing equipment,
developing practical strategies for daily living or supporting someone experiencing significant mental health challenges.
We don't expect you to know everything.
Wedoexpect you to be willing to learn.
What you can expect from us
We're a small team, which means you won't disappear into a giant organisation where you're just another number.
You'll have:
genuine clinical support and supervision
opportunities to learn from experienced clinicians
exposure to a broad range of clients and clinical presentations
support to develop your areas of interest
a team that actually talks to each other
a workplace where asking for help is encouraged
plenty of laughs
autonomy and trust to manage your own clinical work
opportunities to contribute ideas and improve how we do things
early knock off on Fridays
We're big believers that being a good clinician doesn't mean knowing everything.
It means beingcurious, reflective, willing to learn and genuinely invested in your clients.
If you're a current graduate and reading this thinking "I don't know if I'm experienced enough" — please don't count yourself out.
We're happy to support the right person to develop their clinical skills and confidence.
We'd much rather have someone who asks, "How can I do this better?" than someone who thinks they already know everything.
If you're looking for a workplace where you cando meaningful work, keep learning, have some fun and be part of a genuinely supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
