The Gates Hotel is seeking enthusiastic and professional Waitstaff to join our dynamic hospitality team on a casual basis.
Based in Adamstown NSW, this role is fundamental to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
As a member of our front-of-house team, you will be the face of our establishment, creating memorable interactions and ensuring every guest leaves satisfied.
This is a casual position that offers flexibility alongside the opportunity to be part of a vibrant hospitality environment.
What you'll be doing
Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and seating them appropriately according to restaurant procedures
Taking food and beverage orders accurately and communicating special requests to the kitchen
Serving meals and drinks promptly and courteously, ensuring all items are delivered to the correct guests
Maintaining impeccable table presentation throughout the dining experience, including clearing plates and resetting tables between courses
Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions with accuracy and professionalism
Responding to guest inquiries and requests with a friendly demeanour, addressing any concerns promptly
Working collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow
Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Assisting with general restaurant setup and breakdown as required
Contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return
What we're looking for
Proven experience working as waiting staff in a restaurant or hospitality setting, or relevant hospitality training




Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse guests
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously
Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to working hours
Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards and etiquette
Ability to remain calm and composed during peak service periods
Physical capability to stand for extended periods and carry trays safely
Willingness to learn and develop skills within a supportive team environment
