About the role...As the Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all health, safety and environmental matters across our organisation.
This is a strategic position that plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the successful delivery of our projects.

Salary Range of $13•-155 k p.a (Excluding Superannuation)
Hours/days
Ordinarily, you will be expected to work Office hours at head office, Monday to Friday, with occasional visits to active sites, adhering to site operation times

Based at our head office in Newcastle and visiting our many project sites
Ideally, you're someone who...is an experienced Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability Manager with high-level leadership, time management and people skills who engages not only with our people but also creates positive and long-lasting relationships with our business partners and clients.
You will approach challenges with an open mind and will create innovative solutions to problems that create positive outcomes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Actively visiting workplaces and projects, reviewing compliance and work practices.
Resolve concerns and compliance issues when necessary.
Monitoring current and potential health and safety risks and hazards in the workplace and worksites
Participating in corporate-level hazard assessments and developing and approving controls for identified hazards.
Monitoring and addressing compliance with all health and safety legislation.
Providing advice and direction to employees and management on how to minimise or ultimately avoid risks and hazards in the workplace.
Offering general health and safety advice to all employees
Safety Shares organisational-wide, analyses knowledge gaps organisational-wide, develops training materials and delivers seminars and training packages across the organisation, including new hire orientations
Responsible for HSE company policies and procedures
Identifying appropriate health and safety training for different hierarchical levels and ensuring all employees have adequate training for the job at hand.




Organising safety meetings and preparing Weekly Toolbox Talks for all projects
Ensuring safety inspections and audits are completed at the prescribed intervals and corrective actions are taken to correct identified deficiencies.
(SWMS, Take 5's and other applicable risk assessments included)
Primary contact and company representative for ICAM investigation.
Onsite for all investigations and to support the workforce.
Managing a team of HSE advisors and administrators, providing guidance, development, and mentoring.
Support in Emergency Situations as per Procedures and assist in reporting and resolving incidents
Manage Incident Reporting and advise on potential mitigation plans.
Look for creative ways to improve BAM's safety culture.
Ongoing needs assessment of current and required PPE and managing procurement
Prepare Monthly organisational HSE Reports and review monthly HSE site reports
Preparing and managing HSE plans for new projects
High-level client and stakeholder management
Consultation with management across the organisation with any potential HSE Issue
Set standards meeting legislative requirements for Plant and equipment to meet legislative requirements
Assisting with the development, implementation, and compliance with internal control systems, including but not limited to SOPs, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Site Notices and other relevant HSE procedures.
Experience and qualifications
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline
• Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in a health, safety and workplace management role within the construction industry
• ICAM lead investigation training
• Experience within Solar farm construction (Desirable)
• Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and codes of practice




• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and continuous improvement
