About the Role
Based in Broken Hill, you'll provide legal advice, casework and representation to clients across Far West NSW.
Working within a supportive and collaborative legal service, you will manage a varied caseload across areas including:
Family Law
Family Violence and ADVOs
Tenancy
Traffic Matters
Employment Law




Credit and Debt
Victims Support
General Civil Matters
The role includes appearances at Broken Hill and Wilcannia Local Courts, duty lawyer services, outreach work to surrounding communities, community legal education and collaboration with colleagues across the wider regional service network.
This is a hands‐on position suited to someone who enjoys client contact, advocacy, problem‐solving and making a practical difference every day.
About You
We're looking for a lawyer who combines strong legal skills with a genuine commitment to community outcomes.
You may be an experienced Senior Solicitor or a lawyer ready to step into a broader role with increased responsibility.
You'll ideally bring:
Minimum 2 years post‐admission experience
Unrestricted Practising Certificate and eligibility to practise in NSW
Experience providing legal advice, advocacy and representation
Strong communication and relationship‐building skills
Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged clients
Ability to manage files independently while contributing positively to a team
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel for outreach services
Candidates from Community Legal Centres, Legal Aid, Aboriginal Legal Services, Government, Private Practice and other community‐focused legal environments are encouraged to apply.
