The Role
As aTAG Graduate Town Planner, you will support the assessment of development applications and provide planning advice to the community, consultants and internal stakeholders.
Partnering with a senior team member, you will gain exposure to a range of planning functions, including development assessment, report writing and customer interaction through the Duty Planner service.
You will contribute to delivering timely, accurate and customer-focused planning outcomes.

Duties will include but not be limited to:
Undertake site inspections, assess development applications and subdivision certificates in line with Council policies
Prepare assessment reports and determinations on development proposals
Provide advice to the community via the Duty Planner service (in person, email and phone)
Prepare correspondence, reports and memorandums on development matters
Coordinate input from internal teams and external agencies
Undertake process improvement projects in partnership with senior team member

You will have:
Tertiary qualifications in town planning (or equivalent)
A Class C Driver's Licence
Strong interest in development assessment and local government planning
Ability to communicate effectively with a range of colleagues, community members and other professionals
Good written skills for report and correspondence preparation
Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team
Salary starts from$74,693 (Grade D, Step 1) + 12% super, depending on your skills and experience.
