Our client is an established, highly respected, local residential construction business based in Newcastle.
They are looking for a Draftsperson with 2-3 years' experience, or a Designer with solid practical experience, to join their team and take the next step in their career.
About the Role:
Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for developing residential projects from customer briefs and initial sales sketches through to detailed working drawings.
Your responsibilities will include:
Interpreting customer briefs and sales sketches accurately to ensure customer satisfaction
Producing full sets of working drawings at various stages of the process using ArchiCAD
Ensuring drawings comply with relevant Council Development Control Plans (DCPs) and the NSW Complying Development Code (CDC)
Following established company processes and systems
Working efficiently within a small team to maintain quality standards, achieve targets, and meet project timelines
About You:




Proficiency in ArchiCAD is essential
Relevant degree in Architecture, Building Design, or a related discipline
2 -3 years' experience working as a Draftsperson, or reasonable experience in a Design role
The ability to interpret and apply Development Control Plans and the NSW Complying Development Code
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
The ability to interpret drawings conceptually and translate briefs into practical designs
Strong problem-solving skills
A willingness to contribute to a small team and support others
The ability to work to deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work
