Are you an experiencedTransformer Winder, Transformer Repairer or Electrical Fitterwith hands‐on experience overhauling, repairing or rewinding transformers?
We are recruiting for an established Brisbane-based electrical engineering business specialising in therepair, rewind and refurbishment of electric motors, pumps and transformersacross the mining, manufacturing, food processing and energy sectors.
Due to continued growth within the Transformer Division, we are seeking an experienced transformer specialist to join the workshop team.
Interstate candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, with relocation assistance available for the right person.
The Role Working alongside the Transformer Manager and Workshop Supervisor, you will be involved in the complete overhaul, refurbishment, testing and winding oflow, medium and high-voltage transformers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Disassembly and reassembly of transformers
HV and LV transformer coil winding
Setting up and operating transformer winding machines
Back‐winding coils to capture winding data
Winding coils to job specifications and designs
Foil, multilayer and disc winding
Making tapping and delta lead connections
Stacking and assembling coils
Nesting and de‐nesting HV and LV coils
Stacking and unstacking core laminations
Identifying components requiring replacementPreparing components for reassembly
Making gaskets and completing material lists
Transformer electrical testing and fault identification
Capturing wiring details prior to disconnection
Rewiring auxiliary equipment
Recording and interpreting test results
Quality inspections and final project checks
Recording project progress and technical information
Occasional site‐based transformer testing when required

Making tapping and delta lead connections
Stacking and assembling coils
Nesting and de‐nesting HV and LV coils
Stacking and unstacking core laminations
Identifying components requiring replacement
Preparing components for reassembly
Making gaskets and completing material lists
Transformer electrical testing and fault identification
Capturing wiring details prior to disconnection
Rewiring auxiliary equipment
Recording and interpreting test results
Quality inspections and final project checks
Recording project progress and technical information
Occasional site‐based transformer testing when required
About You We are looking for someone with genuine hands‐ontransformer workshop experience.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous transformer winding, repair or refurbishment experience
Experience with LV, MV and/or HV transformers
Transformer coil winding or rewinding experience
Experience with foil, multilayer or disc winding
Electrical testing and fault‐finding experience
Ability to read drawings, schematics and technical procedures
Solid mechanical aptitude
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Strong commitment to safety and quality
Current driver's licence
Experience working onsingle and three‐phase transformers up to 20 MVAwill be highly regarded.
Forklift, overhead crane and associated machinery experience would also be advantageous.
