Our long-established specialist medical practice is seeking a friendly and dependable Receptionist to join our team.
Previous experience is not essential - we're looking for someone early in their medical administration career.
This position is part-time, with a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Additional hours may be available if requested by the right candidate.
A predictable roster will be established to provide certainty wherever possible.
About the role
As one of the main contact points for our patients, you will help create a welcoming and professional experience while supporting the smooth running of the practice on busy clinic days.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and responding to telephone and online enquiries
Booking and confirming appointments
Following up patient requests
Processing payments
Accurate data entry into patient records
Monitoring appointment flow
Maintaining a clean, organised and well-presented reception area
Completing filing, mail, stock and general office duties
Supporting other team members when assistance is needed
Some clinic days are busy and require you to manage several priorities at once.
At quieter times, you will be expected to work independently through administrative tasks, prepare for upcoming clinics and identify useful work without waiting to be prompted.

This job is suitable for anyone looking to begin a career in medical administration, or a uni student with low contact hours and an interest in medical workplaces.
This role isnotsuited to someone seeking a more senior administrative position.
About our Practice
We are an established specialist medical practice that has served North Queensland for several decades.
Our practice includes a diverse mix of surgeons and other healthcare providers, supported by a team of approximately 10 staff.
We expect a high level of professionalism in our standard of communication, presentation and patient care that reflects the sensitive environment we work in and the trust that our patients place in us.
You will work alongside experienced receptionists and report to the Practice Manager and doctors.
