Associate Director (Corporate Banking) | Bank of China Sydney
Bank of China is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Associate Director to join our Corporate Banking team in Sydney.
This client-facing role within a high-performing team focuses on delivering tailored banking solutions to Large Corporate & Institutional customers, with an emphasis on client coverage, credit analysis, transaction structuring, and execution.
This is a Two Year Term Contract, with strong potential to convert to an ongoing role upon successful completion.
Responsibilities
Develop and strengthen client relationships through effective marketing initiatives, delivering innovative solutions to maximize customer satisfaction
Identify and pursue new-to-bank business opportunities through proactive client targeting and business development
Manage and grow the existing customer portfolio, ensuring comprehensive and quality banking services are provided
Assess customers' credit profiles and prepare high-quality credit submissions, including new proposals, variation requests, and annual reviews
Interpret and perform financial modelling, including sensitivity analysis, to support credit decision-making
Structure, execute, and close credit or advisory transactions with minimal supervision from senior leaders
Implement post-lending management, including timely reporting on customers' credit profile changes and adjusting lending strategies accordingly
Conduct industry research and market analysis to maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, risks, and opportunities
Collaborate with product experts across Debt Capital Markets, Trade Finance, Treasury, and Retail Banking to enhance returns through cross-selling initiatives
Liaise with internal departments and Head Office to ensure seamless service delivery and policy implementation
Provide strategic advice and recommendations to improve business performance
To succeed in this role, you will bring
A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in the banking industry, with a robust preference for corporate or institutional banking backgrounds
A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
Strong knowledge of corporate lending and related products and services
Advanced skills in credit analysis, financial modelling, and financial analysis
Solid understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and relevant regulatory requirements
Proven ability to build relationships at all levels of a customer's organization
Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and negotiation skills, with the ability to perform under pressure
Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to comply with bank policies and procedures
Fluency in both English and Mandarin (verbal and written) is highly regarded
