Are you an experienced Carpentry & Construction professional who is passionate about sharing your skills and helping the next generation of tradespeople succeed?
MiHaven Training is excited to welcome a passionate and industry-focused Carpentry Trainer and Assessor to our team in a full-time capacity.
This is an chance to take your industry experience beyond the tools and into the classroom, workshop and workplace — inspiring students, developing practical skills and helping them build the confidence to succeed in their chosen careers.
As a key member of our training team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to our students, supporting them throughout their learning journey while building strong relationships with employers, schools and industry partners.
You'll also play an important role in maintaining high standards of training and assessment, contributing to compliance, continuous improvement and the ongoing development of our programs and resources.

MiHaven Training is looking for a motivated and industry-focused Carpentry & ConstructionTrainer and Assessorto join our team.

What You'll Do
Train & Inspire
Deliver engaging, high-quality training and assessment in Carpentry qualifications, ensuring students develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in the industry.
Bring Learning to Life
Facilitate hands-on learning across classroom, workshop and workplace environments, creating practical and engaging training experiences that reflect real-world construction practices.
Assess & Support
Assess student competency using a range of assessment methods while providing constructive feedback, guidance and encouragement throughout their learning journey.
Mentor Future Tradespeople
Build strong relationships with students and actively support their engagement, progression and successful completion of their qualifications.
Build Strong Partnerships
Develop positive and professional relationships with students, parents, schools, employers and industry stakeholders to create successful training outcomes.
Keep Students on Track
Maintain accurate, timely and compliant student records, including attendance, assessment outcomes, progress notes and other required training documentation.
Stay Industry Current
Maintain current industry knowledge, skills and professional development across carpentry, construction and vocational education and training.
Be Part of the Team
Participate in team meetings, professional development and stakeholder meetings, sharing your knowledge and contributing to a positive team culture.
Represent MiHaven Training professionally and positively, demonstrating a high standard of personal presentation,
conduct and commitment to our students and industry partners.
Skills & Experience/What you'll Bring (essential and desirable qualifications/experience)
About You
We're looking for more than someone who can deliver a qualification — we're looking for someone who can inspire, engage and make a genuine difference to our students.
You'll be a positive, energetic and industry-focused professional who brings practical experience, a passion for teaching and a genuine commitment to helping students achieve their goals.
What You'll Bring
Industry Expertise
Minimum 2 years' current and relevant industry experience in the specific vocational areas you will be training and assessing
A relevant vocational qualification, supported by strong industry experience, such as Certificate III in Carpentry
Current vocational competency and industry currency, with a commitment to ongoing career development in line with ASQA requirements
Training & Assessment
TAE***** Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent
Experience delivering engaging classroom-based and face-to-face training
Strong student engagement, facilitation and mentoring skills
A genuine passion for training and seeing students learn, grow and achieve their goals
Your Personality
Self-motivated, reliable, flexible and energetic, with a positive "can-do" attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail
Someone who takes initiative and thinks "I can make a difference"
Comfortable working independently while also contributing positively to a team environment
Culturally aware, respectful and able to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
Professional & Digital Skills
Confident computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Strong administration and record-keeping skills
Ability to recognise and communicate potential business development and industry opportunities
Compliance & Professional Requirements
Good understanding of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) ****
Ability to consistently deliver training and assessment in accordance with regulatory and organisational requirements
Current Working with Children Blue Card
Current Australian Driver's Licence
