About the role
The Royal Melbourne Hospital Psychology team provides high-quality, person-centred and evidence-based psychological care across inpatient and outpatient services.
The team includes Clinical Psychologists, Health Psychologists and Neuropsychologists, with a strong culture of clinical research and several research projects underway.
In this role, you will provide flexible and individualised psychological assessment, therapeutic intervention and psychoeducation through face-to-face, telehealth and in-home services.
You will work closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team to support effective care and outcomes, with opportunities to work across different units and campuses in response to service needs.
The role offers the prospect to contribute to a collaborative Psychology service while supporting the delivery of evidence-based care across a diverse hospital population.
Key Accountabilities
Provide pre- and post-operative psychological assessment and support to patients considering prophylactic mastectomy.
Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to support mental health, coping and engagement with treatment.
Provide psychological expertise and advice to treating teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Contribute flexibly to Allied Health Psychology services across acute and subacute settings, responding to service needs.
About You
Patient-centred approach to psychological assessment and intervention.
Collaborative working style and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Experience supporting people with medical conditions and understanding of psychological factors that may impact elective surgery and surgical outcomes.
Strong communication skills and commitment to ongoing professional development.
AHPRA registration as a Clinical or Health Psychologist, with an interest in public health.
