The café can seat up to approximately 35 customers at a time, so we need someone who works well under pressure without getting flustered.The role reports to the Owner / Supervisor and works alongside the wider café team, including front of house staff and other kitchen staff.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and cook breakfast meals to a consistent, high standardManage dockets and timing during busy breakfast serviceMaintain food quality, presentation and kitchen standardsComplete general kitchen duties, including prep, cleaning and pack-downSupport the day-to-day flow of the kitchenWork safely, cleanly and efficientlyWork closely with front of house to support a smooth customer experienceAssist with other kitchen tasks as neededAbout YouYou will be someone who genuinely thrives on the rhythm of breakfast service.
You'll be calm when it's busy, organised when the dockets are flying, and proud of putting up consistent, high-quality food every time.
You don't need to reinvent the menu, but you do need to care about the details, work well with others, and be happy to jump in wherever needed.We are looking for someone who is:A fully qualified chef or an experienced, talented cookExperienced in breakfast serviceCalm, organised and steady under pressureAble to work independently when neededHands-on and happy to jump in wherever requiredConsistent, reliable and proud of doing a great jobFlexible with days and available for some weekend workEasy to work with, with a good sense of humourKeen to be part of a team that is building something positiveIf you're happy to take on additional tasks such as Front of House or Barista duties this will be highly regarded.Key Skills & ExperienceMinimum 2 years' breakfast industry experiencePrevious café or restaurant cooking experienceStrong time management skillsAbility to handle a busy docket systemConfidence working across prep, service and cleaning dutiesA genuine love of food and hospitalityAbility to work well with kitchen and front of house teams
