We are seeking an experienced Marine Technician with a strong and broad understanding of vessels and marine systems, a high attention to detail, and a genuine pride in delivering quality and reliable work.
The successful candidate must have practical hands-on experience working on boats, yachts or commercial vessels, with the ability to confidently carry out maintenance, repairs, servicing and fault-finding across a wide range of vessel systems.
About the Role
As a Marine Technician in our maintenance yard, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repairs, servicing and fault-finding across recreational and commercial vessels.
Your primary duties will include:
Carry out general vessel maintenance, servicing and repairs.
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across a broad range of vessel systems.
Service and maintain bilge, drainage and pumping systems.
Install, service and repair marine toilets, sanitation and waste systems.
Maintain and repair freshwater and raw-water systems.
Service and troubleshoot pumps, valves, hoses, strainers and associated equipment.
Carry out basic mechanical maintenance and repairs on marine engines and machinery.
Assist with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and other vessel maintenance as required.
Identify potential problems before they become major failures.
Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
Assist with vessel refits, upgrades and modifications.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts required.
Maintain a clean, organised and professional work area.
Work safely and follow company procedures and workplace safety requirements.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, tradespeople, vessel owners and other team members.
Ensure all work is completed to a high professional standard before the vessel leaves the yard.
What you will need
We are looking for a motivated and experienced maritime qualified who has a Broad marine exerpience in some or all of the following areas:
Master 5 / MED 2 - Desirable but nor a requirement.
Commercial or recreational vessel maintenance.
Experience working with diesel engines, generators and Hydraulic systems.
Experience with 12V and 24 Volt Marine electrical systems
Working with Boat Air-conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing and sanitation systems.
Fibreglass or composite repairs.
Preventative maintenance programs.
Vessel refits and project work.
A meticulous approach to safetyand adherence to maritime regulations.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, for effective interaction with crew, clients, and management.
A strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability.
Problem-solving abilitiesand the capacity to perform autonomously.
A commitment to providing a professional and memorable experiencefor all onboard.
