Darwin City | Northern TerritoryHays Accounting & Finance are proud to be partnering with a values-driven and highly respected Northern Territory organisation to recruit a Senior Accountant for their Darwin office.This is a permanent opportunity offering flexibility from 3 days per week through to full-time, with a clear pathway into a management position for the right candidate.
Adaptable start and finish times are available, making the role suitable for those balancing family or other commitments.Working with a diverse portfolio of clients, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, reviewing reconciliations, managing compliance requirements, and building solid client relationships.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with business leaders, provide proactive financial guidance, and contribute to the ongoing growth of a well-established practice.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements and compliance work for a diverse client portfolio
Review reconciliations and paperwork to a high standard
Manage BAS, IAS and general compliance obligations
Build and maintain solid client relationships
Identify and communicate financial risks and opportunities




Support and mentor junior staff as required
Contribute to continuous improvement and practice growth initiatives
About You
CA qualified or nearing completion
Experience within public practice accounting
Solid financial statement preparation experience
Sound understanding of compliance requirements and reporting obligations
Experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
