Role Details:
Position:Full-Time Motor Mechanic
Location:Gurkhas Auto Repairs, Warners Bay NSW ****
Shifts:Due to the nature of the role, occasional morning, evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts may be required
Responsibilities
Diagnosis and Fault Detection:Identify and diagnose both mechanical and electrical malfunctions within engines and associated parts, often utilizing computer-assisted testing and diagnostic tools.




Disassembly and Inspection:Systematically dismantle and remove vehicle components, including engine assemblies, transmissions, and steering mechanisms, followed by a thorough inspection and checking of all removed parts.
Repair and Reassembly:Repair or replace worn-out and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components and consulting service manuals as necessary to ensure accuracy.
Maintenance and Compliance:Conduct scheduled maintenance services, such as performing oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, with the goal of optimizing vehicle performance and ensuring adherence to all relevant pollution regulations.
Post-Repair Verification:Reassemble repaired engines and parts, and then test and adjust those mechanical components to confirm proper performance and function.
Vehicle Examination (Optional):May include inspecting vehicles and either issuingroadworthiness certificatesor detailing the specific work required for a vehicle to achieve roadworthiness.
Emergency Response:Respond tovehicle breakdown service callsto provide assistance.
Requirements:
Atleast 1 years Proven experience as a motor mechanic
Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)




Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
A valid driver's license
