About the role
We are seeking an experienced Foot-Scanning Technology Specialist to lead the national rollout, optimisation and technical enablement of Aetrex foot-scanning technology across our retail and wholesale clinic network.
This is a project-focused role central to improving the in-store customer experience, lifting conversion to orthotic and footwear solutions, and ensuring consistent, best-practice use of scanning technology across multiple locations.
The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise with strong training and stakeholder skills, and will be responsible for building lasting internal capability so that scanning technology is used correctly and confidently across the business.
Key responsibilities
Lead the setup, calibration, configuration and troubleshooting of foot-scanning hardware and software across retail, wholesale and clinical sites
Develop and deliver structured, hands-on training programs for retail staff, wholesale partners and medical clinics covering correct setup, operation and troubleshooting
Produce user guides, standard operating procedures and training materials to support consistent use of the technology
Provide in-field technical support during new store openings, scanner installations and promotional activations
Work with operations, IT and sales teams to integrate scanner data into existing retail and clinical workflows
Support best-practice use of scan data to recommend appropriate footwear and orthotic solutions, improving the consistency of customer assessments
Identify and refine processes that drive higher conversion and improved customer outcomes
Resolve complex technical issues, optimise scanner performance, and ensure the technology is used in line with manufacturer and clinical guidelines
Transfer knowledge and build capability within internal teams to ensure long-term self-sufficiency
Skills and experience required
Demonstrated technical experience with foot-scanning or comparable 3D scanning / biometric measurement technology, including hardware setup, calibration and software configuration
Proven ability to interpret scan data and apply it to footwear or orthotic recommendations
Experience delivering technical training and developing training materials and standard operating procedures for varied audiences
Background in footwear, orthotics, podiatry, medical devices or a related retail or clinical workplace
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software and data
Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills, with the ability to work across retail, wholesale and clinical teams
Willingness to travel to sites across Australia as required
Desirable
Familiarity with retail and clinical workflows in a footwear or footcare setting
Experience supporting technology rollouts across multiple sites
