Sunshine Berries are looking for a reliable and hands-on Irrigation Assistant to join our team.
In this role, you'll support the daily operation and monitoring of irrigation and fertigation systems across our farm sites, helping ensure our berry crops receive the right balance of water and nutrients to thrive.
You'll work closely with the Irrigation Manager and Agronomy team to maintain system performance, monitor plant health, and contribute to efficient day-to-day farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:
This is a agile and hands-on role where no two days are the same - your key responsibilities will include:
Operate and monitor Galcon irrigation systems to ensure efficient performance
Adjust irrigation strategies based on plant requirements and weather conditions
Carry out routine irrigation maintenance, including flushing, dripper checks, and system cleaning
Monitor plant health and report any issues such as pests, disease, or nutrient deficiencies
Measure and manage pH and EC levels in irrigation and drainage systems




Mix and prepare fertilisers according to established recipes
Record water usage and irrigation data accurately
Assist with irrigation installations and maintenance across both farm sites
We are looking for someone who is:
Detail-oriented with strong observational and analytical skills
Comfortable working outdoors in a physically active role
Reliable, organised, and proactive in their approach
A strong communicator who works well within a team
Interested in agriculture, irrigation, or plant production systems
Highly regarded (but not essential):
Experience with irrigation systems or Galcon software
Background in agriculture, horticulture, or hydroponics
Chemical handling certification
Previous experience in a similar hands-on farm role
